Let’s talk makeup! I have two types of makeup looks: There’s my 5 minute makeup routine, and my full out makeup routine. Got 5 minutes? Because today I’m going to be sharing my fast and fresh 5 minute makeup routine with some of my favorite tried and true products. I love being able to throw on some quick makeup and look fresh and ready for the day in just a few minutes, so let’s get started. Fresh and Fast 5 Minute Makeup

Step 1: Create a Base

Apply foundation or tinted moisturizer depending on the type of coverage you would like. On days where I do not need much coverage, I choose to use a the Tarte Tinted Moisturizer. I apply with my hands it as if I am putting on lotion. It creates a really natural fresh look! If I need fuller coverage, I apply the Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation using the Airbrush Finish Brush. (That brush is a game changer for liquid foundation!) No matter which one you choose, be sure to blend down past your jaw line and into your neck.

Tip: If you’re looking for a little extra glow or a more radiant look, try using this Shimmering Skin Perfector. You can mix it with your Tinted Moisturizer or use it as a primer prior to putting on your foundation. If you need to freshen up your tinted moisturizer or foundation at any point in the day, try a few sprays of the Urban Decay Quick Fix Hydracharged spray!

Step 2: Conceal

Time to cover up those dark circles and fine lines! I used to dread this part of my makeup routine because every single concealer I used would settle into fine lines, didn’t last throughout the entire day, and looked horrible by the end of the day. Then came Tarte Shape Tape concealer. I am absolutely obsessed and have converted so many of my friends over to this product! I apply it under my eyes and blend it using a damp BeautyBlender. One of my most frequently asked questions is what color I use! I use the light-neutral color, and it lasts me a few months.

Tip: Make sure your BeautyBlender is damp because it makes a huge difference! There are two different sizes in the BeautyBlender. Sometimes I prefer using the smaller size because I can really blend it well into the smaller areas around my eyes. Here is a set that allows you to try both sizes, plus it comes with the soap that I use to clean my BeautyBlender.

Step 3: Bronze & Highlight

My skin has a tendency to make most things look orange, so it has been a journey finding a bronzer that I love. Too Faced Chocolate bronzer is perfect. This is one of the top selling bronzers at Sephora and Amazon.  It is build able so you can make it as natural or dramatic as you choose. (Oh, and it smells good too!) Next I use the Becca Highlighter to highlight my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, and on my brow bone. I use the angled end of this double sided contour brush for my bronzer, and the other end for my highlighter.

Step 4: Make Those Eyes Pop

Accentuate your eyes using eye liner, mascara, and filling in your brows. I am a huge fan of Mac eye kohl in the color Teddy and have been using it for over a year now. It is a blendable eye liner in a really pretty brown color. I used black eye liner for years, and if you’re in the market I really love this drugstore eye liner (only $5!), but I wanted something a little less harsh and a little more natural looking.

I fill in my brows with the Anastasia Brow Definer in the color medium brown. I didn’t jump on the eye brown train until after college, and I’m not sure what I was waiting for! I really love how they look, and the Brow Definer can be as subtle and natural or dramatic as you prefer.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has tried countless brands of Mascara. My current favorite is Lancome Big Monsieur, but I rotate between that, Better Than Sex, and Lash Domination. I highly highly recommend all three of these!

Step 5: Lips

Top off your look with a hydrating lip balm or natural lip gloss. I have extremely dry lips. My two favorite hydrating lip balms are the Bobbi Brown Lip Balm Treatment and the BITE Agave Lip Mask. They both work great under or over lip stick too! For a natural shimmer lip gloss, I have been loving Buxom lip polish. There are a TON of colors to choose from. Hydrating your lips really does complete your look and can take you from looking tired and dull to fresh and ready for the day!
