Let’s talk about morning beauty routines. I recently listened to a podcaster share every detail of her morning routine in an episode and I loved it! Everything from favorite products to tasks, so I thought it would be fun to share mine here. I hope you enjoy the details of my morning routine!
My Morning Beauty Routine
I’ve been a “night shower” kind of a person for years. Growing up I would wash my hair in the morning, but let’s be honest I do not have time for that anymore! #momlife. Now, I wake up in the morning (typically around 6am) always wearing a comfortable pajama set or robe. It’s just my thing! I feel like if I’m going to be home often, I might as well have some fun lounge clothes and sets to feel comfy cute in. Since I don’t shower in the morning, the first thing I do to wake myself up is wash my face! Back in the day before blogs I would always read magazines, and that’s how I would find different products to add to my wishlist. I quickly found the products that stuck by my side through middle school, high school, college, and beyond. I’m so excited to share two of the brands I came to love today.
Morning Beauty Routine Step 1: Noxema Classic Clean Moisturizing Cleansing Cream
I do still switch between high-end and affordable products, and my Noxzema classic clean moisturizing cleansing cream is one of those products that totally holds its own next to the higher end products! It cleanses and moisturizes, leaving your skin with a nice and refreshing feeling. It almost tingles a little when you’re done washing it! (I personally love a product that I literally feel working.) It doesn’t over dry my skin which is key for me. Note: I apply this onto dry skin and then rinse off with water.
Morning Beauty Routine Step 2: St Ives Apricot Scrub
Now that my skin is damp, about three times a week I apply Apricot Scrub! I’m sure you guys have tried St. Ives products before. I especially love a good scrub now that I am so into Spray Tans lately. Exfoliating is key for a nice and non-streaky tan. St. Ives Fresh Skin apricot scrub contains 100% natural walnut shell powder to deeply exfoliate for clean, glowing skin. I notice that when I am consistently exfoliating a few times per week, my makeup goes on so much smoother.
I always have a mix of high end and affordable products in my bathroom. Affordable products really can be just as good! You can grab both of these products at Walmart for a great price.
After I use these 2 products, I typically moisturize and then leave my skin makeup free as long as possible to let it breathe. I then try to get in at least one hour of quiet computer work before the kids wake up. On the contrary, If Brett is home, I will pack up my computer and leave the house to work on my computer for a couple hours! As soon as the kids are both up, we like to start a load of laundry, make some breakfast (usually eggs or a bagel) and get them dressed for the day. I really do feel so much better when I take some extra time in the morning for myself! It can be hard as a mom to remember to take time for yourself. Setting a few set things that you do every morning makes such a big difference in how the rest of my day goes! I hope you enjoyed this look into my morning routine!
