Last week my friends threw me a surprise baby sprinkle shower! They had given me a few hints along the way: I needed a dress, and I needed to be completely free on the 10th. Although I assumed it was going to be a baby sprinkle shower, I had no idea just how fun and special it would be!
A LOVELY BABY SPRINKLE SHOWER
In true Lauren fashion, I ordered about 10 different dresses to try on. I wanted to make sure I really really loved my dress. I ended up going with this dress, which I am most likely going to shoot our family maternity photos in. (This place is one of my go-to’s for dresses when I’m pregnant!)
If you’ve never heard of a baby sprinkle shower, it’s basically a more low key shower. Many friends throw expecting moms a “sprinkle” when it is not their first child. (Click here to see photos from my Baby Shower when I was pregnant with Michael!) I always enjoy attending friends “sprinkles” because it is always a treat to come together with the girls! The day before the sprinkle, they gave me one more hint: I needed to pack an overnight bag! (More on that later in the post.) Up until the moment we pulled up to the Four Seasons, I had no idea where we were headed. I LOVE surprises! We walked outside to the most beautiful brunch set up near the pool with some of my closest friends waiting.
The weather was absolutely perfect… 75 and sunny! They decorated the tables with pretty flowers and French macarons for party favors. Fun fact: I love fresh French Macarons! It was such a picturesque moment, and it made me feel like girls brunches need to happen on a weekly basis.
The brunch was amazing! I especially loved the cute mini donuts. My friend Brionne from PhotoGraff Design was so sweet to document the special day! I highly recommend having a photographer at special events like this because it is so nice to be able to enjoy the moment rather than trying to capture it on a phone/camera.
My mom flew to Vegas from Texas for the week! It was so nice to have her there to celebrate.
I’m not big on games, however I always love to do these types of games at showers and sprinkles. The top three people who had the correct answers received cute little gifts to take home.
After we enjoyed the food, it was time for presents and cake. This gift made me shed a few tears as soon as I saw what it was! My sister in law bought me a preservation box to save special keepsakes in. When I opened it, the dress my niece wore to our wedding was in the box. I can’t wait for baby girl to wear this some day!
After the Baby Sprinkle Shower
After the baby sprinkle shower, the surprises weren’t over. We checked into our hotel room (what!?) and headed to the spa shortly after. The four of us all had massage appointments! I believe mine was called a baby moon massage. We enjoyed the spa facilities afterwards and took advantage of the opportunity to take our time getting dolled up for the night without toddlers bossing us around. That’s something that doesn’t happen too often for us mamas! Then we had dinner reservations at Libertine Social. I had never eaten there before. The food was incredible. We stayed up till the early hours of the morning just chatting, and I realized how long it had been since I had done that! Disclaimer: they stayed up later than me… I think I made it to 1:30 am.
These three are the ones who pulled off the most special day. They are beautiful inside and out! I haven’t always had a good group of girl friends, so I really really cherish our friendships. I felt so much love for baby girl, and I am so thankful for everyone who was involved in helping them pull off the big day including Brett and my mom! 8 more weeks until my due date!
