Let’s talk about denim shorts. I’ve found that the majority of them are either the perfect length but too big in the waist, OR they fit the waist and your booty is hanging out of the back. It’s hard to find that perfect fit. I’ve also found that the best styles sell out BEFORE it’s time to start wearing them! Today I’m sharing 2 favorite pairs of denim shorts, sizing details, and ideas on what to wear with denim shorts!
My favorite pair is the Parker Agolde jean. (Pictured in outfit #1 below.) These are new to me and I’ve never loved a denim short more. I wasn’t able to get my hands on a pair last year, but finally ordered them in time this year! I am typically a size 25, but I ended up exchanging mine for a size 24! They were a teeny tiny big big in the waist, but luckily the 24 is still a GREAT length. They do not ride up when you walk, and they are such a cute fit. If you don’t mind a little wiggle room you should be fine with your true size for more of a boyfriend fit for your shorts. The only downside is they are a little pricier than I would prefer, but I think I will definitely get enough use out of them during Spring and Summer to justify the price point! These are selling out as we speak, so I made sure to link multiple to washes and multiple retailers.
Coming in second place are Levi’s 501 shorts. If you’re looking for a better price point, these are the way to go! Stick with your true size on these. (Mine are a size 25.) You will see these pictured below in outfit #3 in charcoal.
