When Michael was born, we had our friend Davis come to the hospital to make a little video for us. It was the perfect way to document the special day! (For some reason I’m just not into birth photography even though I love to have pictures of just about everything in our lives!) The video is so fun to look back on, and Michael loves to watch it too. (You can view it here!)
I knew I wanted to have another video made on the day that we would welcome baby girl into the world! It was really important to me to capture the moment when Michael met Paige on video. I had kept Davis in the loop on my due date and a date range of when I thought I might go into labor. Once we made it to the hospital, we sent an update to him, and it turned out he was only free on the actual day that Paige was born! (We took Michael’s video the day after he was born, which was a little easier to manage.) I’m just glad he was in town and available because it is the best memory to look back on!
We mustered up the last little bit of energy we had after she was born to make it look like we had maybe gotten at least a glimpse of sleep the night before. (It was a rough night to say the least, but I think adrenaline and excitement were carrying us through the day.) Brett went home to get Michael dressed and ready while I managed to squeeze in a little bit of a nap after nursing Paige. Of course right before we started filming, a doctor came in to check her vitals, and Paige scratched her poor little face big time when her fingernails weren’t covered! I knew it would all be worth it capturing the day we welcome baby girl on video. Despite our exhaustion and her scratched up face, looking back on our Welcome Baby Girl video, I love that it is on her actual day of birth!
It’s Mother’s Day weekend, and I am feeling extra grateful to be a mom to these two cuties. Michael is so sweet with his new little sister. Well, without further ado, Meet Paige!

I highly recommend some sort of documenting, whether it is on your phone or camera, a go-pro, birth photography, or a videographer. We also take newborn photos, but there is just something about a video with the whole family that is so special.
