Sharing our family pictures is always one of my favorite posts of the year. Taking family pictures every year is a tradition I hope to always keep. When I am choosing our outfits and photo location each year I always try to keep in mind that I want these pictures framed in our home. I want a location and a color scheme that will flow in the home. Throughout the years of blogging and our family pictures each year, I have definitely found some favorite Las Vegas locations for family pictures. Every year when Fall rolls around I get so many questions about my favorite photo spots around town, so why not compile them all into a list for people to reference!?

Top 7 favorite Las Vegas locations for family pictures
Spring Mountain Ranch. This is where these photos were taken! We took these a few days before Thanksgiving to give you an idea of the timing. We have taken family pictures twice at Spring Mountain Ranch. Just make sure you have a good photographer! I can’t stress this enough. There is greenery here which can sometimes be edited poorly making it look like a completely different location.
Red Rock Canyon Family Pictures
We took our family pictures here in 2018! Put Red Rock Canyon into your maps, and honestly as you are getting close just find a good open spot with a spot to park at! If you aren’t familiar with the area I suggest driving to find a spot you love prior to your photo day. Or just shoot with Bethany Paige Photography … she knows ALL the best specific areas on my list of favorite Las Vegas locations for family pictures.
Couple Pictures at Valley of Fire
Ok, so this one isn’t the easiest to get to but it is worth the trek. It is one of those spots that you just can’t find many other places in the world. Take a look at the pictures Brett and I did here a few years ago. Aren’t they beautiful!?
Dry Lake Bed
There are two dry lake beds in Las Vegas: Jean Dry Lake Bed and El Dorado Dry Lake Bed. Honestly just choose whichever one is a more convenient location for you. This will create a very simple and unique backdrop that looks so great in your home! I’m thinking we will do some Dry Lake Bed family pictures next year since it’s been a while.
Floyd Lamb Park
Floyd Lamp Park is SUCH a good option. Honestly, I don’t shoot here nearly enough. I haven’t been here in years but there are so many good options here. Here you can find ponds, tall dead grass that looks AMAZING in photos as funny as it sounds, white fences, and some pretty white buildings. If you don’t want all of your photos to have the exact same background, this is your spot!
Wetlands Park
Wow last time I was here I was about to pop! Wetlands park is located in Henderson and offers a few different options from a bridge, a wash, dry brush, and large rocks.
Seven Magic Mountains
As I mentioned, I’m more of a neutral color kind of person when it comes to family pictures, but of course I have to add Seven Magic Mountains to the list! This iconic art installation is somewhere you can’t find anywhere else. It is located near Jean Dry Lake and Interstate 15, approximately ten miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada. Comprised of seven towers of colorful, stacked boulders standing more than thirty feet high, it is definitely a sight to see and a great place to take pictures.
I hope you enjoyed my list of top 7 favorite Las Vegas locations for family pictures! I would love to see if you shot at one of the spots on the list! Send me a message!
XOXO
You’re forgetting Nelson, NV. A ghost town right outside Vegas. Its a photographers dream.
