Q&A: Third Trimester Symptoms, Cravings & More

Do we have a name yet?

I thought we had a name, but on our last date we decided to start reading off baby names. We left with a list of 5 names! Since then, we have eliminated a couple more.  I am such a planner that I really want to choose so that we can put her name in the nursery, but it is such a hard decision.

Is the nursery finished?

Not. Even. Close. We still have just under 2 months, but this is next up on my  to do list. We will be moving Michael from the nursery into the guest room and making the nursery more girly. I still don’t have any ideas what we will do in there. We won’t be doing anything too drastic, but I still want to make it look cute. Possibly just adding a few floral touches and a girly rug. It is nice to have all of the furniture and gear already this time around. I think it will be more work making Michaels new room nice and fun for him. We are going to do a sports theme for him!

Do I have everything I need?

The number one big item on my list is this jogging stroller. It actually just arrived! As many of you know, working out is my favorite thing to do. I have a jogging stroller, and I started using it very early on with Michael. It is so nice to go on long walks and get some fresh air when I’m not quite cleared to work out. Our BOB has gotten some great use out of it, especially anywhere with rough terrain, but I have been dying to try this brand. It will definitely be my one big splurge of this pregnancy.

Our every day stroller converts into a double, I just need to figure out how to attach the second seat. One big priority of mine during my last pregnancy was to invest in a stroller that would eventually convert to a double. I love my stroller SO much if you are in the market! (Maybe I will do a post on all of the things I will be purchasing during my second Pregnancy!)

Cravings?

I think about sushi almost daily! I have had sushi a couple of times during this pregnancy (gasp), and it has been so good every time. Other than that, I love avocados even more than I usually do. I have been putting them on everything every chance I get. If I see a photo of something tasty while I’m scrolling through social media or watching tv, I can’t get it off of my mind until I have it. For example, I have been craving Buffalo Wild Wings salt and vinegar wings for almost a month. Last night I gave in to my craving and bought myself some wings. They were so good.

How am I feeling?

My third trimester symptoms really just depends on the day. Some days I am feeling perfectly fine, while other days my body aches. The good news is that unlike my last pregnancy, the nausea is gone! Overall, I have been extremely tired. I think a big part of that is lack of sleep. I usually go to bed at 10pm, but I have had a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep lately. I wake up multiple times during the night which is very unlike me to do. I’m at the point where if I’m sitting I want lean back and get her off of my ribs. It’s pretty tight quarters in there.

Am I still working out?

Yes and it feels so good! I have been working out 4-5 days per week and mainly been sticking to classes:

Monday: Barbell Strength (similar to body pump)

Tuesday: Barre Bootcamp

Wednesday: Glute class

Thursday/Friday/Saturday: Fit in one more class for the week +  one at home workout when I’m feeling motivated.

To be honest, it is a stress reliever and my favorite hobby. I want to do it as long as I can, and have been making the proper adjustments and taking breaks when I need to. I can’t fully keep up anymore, but I just try to pay attention to when I need to stop or lower weights. It’s getting to that point where people stop me in the gym to tell me I’m crazy to be working out this far along, but my days are so much better when I start them off with a morning workout.

How many weeks am I?

33! I have about 7 weeks to go, and a whole lot to get done in those 7ish weeks. I take a while to start showing, but in the third trimester I grow so much. I’m starting to have my days where I just don’t want to get out of my pajamas at all during the day.

My least favorite part of being pregnant:

Disclaimer: I know this is going to sound ridiculous. You would think it would have something to do with all of those third trimester symptoms I mentioned earlier. Nope! Last time I would have said being sick. I still agree that in the first trimester, that is the worst part but I have felt much better this pregnancy overall. My sick days are far and few between, but something that really bothered me during both pregnancies is when my cute innie belly button turns into an outie! There are so many shirts that I put on and immediately take off because that’s all I notice when I look in the mirror and it’s all I can see when I look at certain pictures. It drives me crazy.

Favorite Pregnancy Perks:

The hair! Oh my goodness.. pregnancy hair is great. It is one of the best third trimester symptoms ever! But it sure is a bummer when it starts falling out after the baby is born. (It happened when Michael was between 3-6 months.) I also love calling all the shots on where we eat. We have eaten out more than usual, and I’m not mad about that! I don’t love the idea of having a flat booty, so that is something I tend to focus on a lot in the gym. During pregnancy it is so much easier to keep it nice and “juicy” as one of my gym class trainers calls it.

Dress | Sunglasses | Purse

This non maternity dress is a dream! It is such a classy and timeless piece that will never go out of style I love it for that in between weather when you don’t necessarily need a jacket, but it’s still a little bit chilly. When I originally tried it on for you guys on Instagram stories, SO many people wanted it but the price tag was a major turn off. Well, its on major sale now. It is over $100 off, making it under $100! Grab it while you can! It is such a perfect stretchy material, and major bonus points that it is not meant to drag on the floor. (It’s actually supposed to fit a tad bit shorter to show the ankles, but I am 5’4″.)

XOXO
