NYFW Day 1: What I Wore & My Itinerary

New York Fashion week sort of reminded me of Thanksgiving.  So much time and preparation went into the months leading up to fashion week, and in the blink of an eye it was all over! I was lucky enough to plan it with my friends Jocelyn, Aubrey, and Lauren, a group of girls I am oh so grateful for.

We traveled all day Friday and arrived to the Courtyard Marriott Downtown World Trade Center late that night. The view from our hotel room was absolutely incredible. First things first, we showered, put our pajamas on and ordered food to the room while we unpacked.

NYFW Day 1

On Saturday morning the four of us rolled out of bed and jumped in an Uber to head to our first stop of the day: Drybar Tribeca. (I should probably clarify that Lauren Johnson and Aubrey looked like they were ready for a photoshoot while Jocelyn and I really did roll right out of bed.) After a long day of traveling, a fresh blowout was just what the doctor ordered to start the day off. I went with the “mai tai” which is similar to my everyday loosely curled hair style. This was my first time at Drybar and I loved it!

Highlights on our itinerary for the day included backstage to the Tibi show with Aveda, the Banana Republic Presentation, a Rebecca Minkoff after party, the Lulus Style Society Party and the RewardStyle rooftop party. It was nice to start out our trip on a weekend since it was much more calm than our week day schedules.

In between all of the madness we were lucky enough to have a free hour to grab lunch. We went to an amazing Vietnamese cafe in SoHo called BoCaphê. Vietnamese food always reminds me of one of my favorite restaurants in Houston called Mai’s. I highly recommend this place! If you aren’t familiar with Vietnamese food, always always always order the vermicelli!

We met up with Paige Nicolle to shoot some photos around Soho. We actually met her at the Nomo Soho hotel which was so beautiful! It was so nice to meet her, and she was the sweetest person ever! She has a really great portfolio and shoots some of my favorite bloggers who I have admired even before I ever thought of starting a blog.

floral joie dress, pink booties, oversized denim jacket

I decided to switch up my outfit for the RewardStyle rooftop party for a couple of reasons. 1. I could hardly breathe in the lace dress. 😂 It runs REALLY small. 2. I needed something I could layer with since it was so chilly at night! 3. These wine booties were delivered to my hotel from Sam Edelman and I wanted to wear them ASAP!  I opted for a floral dress and my new oversized embellished denim jacket (which is 30% off right now!)

Party Time

I’m not a huge “party person”, but it was a blast to run into so many people at the RewardStyle event. A few personal friends and Instagram friends I was able to catch up with included Brittany Maddux, Camilla from Navy Grace, Jessica from Uptown Fashion By Jess,  Angelle from Dashing Darling , and Sarah from Sassy Red Lipstick. Side note: the bartender kept making Jocelyn and I the BEST mocktails.

Jocelyn and I decided to head over to the Lulu’s party while some of our other friends decided to stay back. I was so glad I was able to go! They thought out every last detail at that party. They even had a display of mannequins wearing their latest styles and we were able to choose what outfits we wanted to take home with us. We attempted to walk back to the hotel, which wasn’t the best idea. We accidentally typed in Greenwich road instead of Greenwich street.

Day 1 of NYFW was a huge success! Stay tuned for more of my fashion week recaps coming soon!
