Let’s start off with where it all began. This Kitchen. We had plans for it since the day we first laid eyes on it including removing the ceiling pop-outs, new flooring in the entire house, new paint, tearing out the island, replacing cabinets, marble countertops, white cabinets, grey island, and adding a hood. With a big remodel like ours, things get very messy before things start looking up.
The look on Brett’s face says it all. Living in a house while you remodel it yourselves is really hard. We went months without flooring or running water in our kitchen. We have a small loft upstairs which is where I spent a lot of time with the kids when we were home.
Here you can see the kitchen island Brett built! We had quotes for about $12,ooo on an island this size, and Brett was able to build it for under $1000.
And just like that, we transformed our kitchen from dark and outdated to this! I absolutely love it.
