Last week Michael turned 5! I’m still not sure how on earth I already have a five year old. The last few years we have had his birthday party at a trampoline park, and wanted to switch things up. All of my birthday party ideas kept falling through and before we knew it we had a day and a half until his birthday was here. As we were driving back from our trip to Brian Head, the idea of a simple movie night with a few friends popped into my head. With a few fun touches, the party was a huge hit and would be a great idea for any age range.
5 Fun Movie Night Birthday Party Ideas for a 5 Year Old Boy
I whipped up this invitation and came up with a few simple ideas that pulled it all together! First up, movie snack trays, AKA meal prep containers with candy and popcorn. Thank goodness for Amazon prime! These cute popcorn bags ended up being the star of the show.
5 Fun Movie Night Birthday Party Ideas for a 5 Year Old Boy
#1: Snack trays
#2: Popcorn balloons
I messaged Celebrations by Karly on Instagram hoping she would be able to whip something up for me. (If you’re in Vegas, she’s awesome!) It was a miracle that she was available, and she created the cutest popcorn balloon garland! As you can see, she used some of the popcorn bags in the garland.
As you can see, everyone showed up in their pajamas!
#3: Soda Cups
It’s not a movie night without soda! Well, for little ones, it’s not a movie night without apple juice. I really love these little 9oz solo cups with lids and straws.
#4: Easy Movie Night Décor
The cute “movie night” and popcorn balloons were a party pack from Amazon! It also came with cupcake toppers. I popped the sticks off of the toppers and placed them all over the table rather than sticking them in thee cupcakes. The balloons we’re easy to fill without an air machine! I just stuck a straw in the opening and blew into the straw.
Continuing with the movie theme, I dumped popcorn all around the cake.
# 5: Customize your Pizza
Quick party tip: After scheduling our pizza delivery, I gave Dominos a call to see if they could do a 5 with the pepperoni! Michael thought it was awesome. I’ve also seen people request hearts for Valentines Day.
Movie night was a success! I hope these 5 fun movie night birthday party ideas for a 5 year old boy help give you some party inspiration for your next birthday party!
Happy birthday Michael! We love you!
