We’re back from Montana and upon popular request I’m sharing my top 10 things to do in Big Sky, Montana!
Eating good food is of course one of my favorite activities when we are traveling, so I’m also sharing a quick list of restaurants to try. We’ve traveled to Montana a handful of times as a family, and Brett has been fly fishing in Montana every year for the last 15 years. Between our trips and some great tips from my sister in law who lives in Big Sky, I’d say this is quite the list!
As you can see by our outfits, this time around we traveled to Big Sky in between the end of Summer and beginning of Fall. During this time it’s warm in the sun and chilly at night or in the shade. And by chilly I mean chilly by Vegas standards. 😉

Shopping in Big Sky Town Center.
There are some really fun shops here, my personal favorite being Montana Supply. We always grab some hats at East Slope Outdoors. They have the cutest Montana baseball hats. Big Sky Town Center also holds fun activities, events and farmers markets here. (See this page for a list of current happenings.)

This is on our to-do list! More details can be found here.
Fly Fishing:
The Gallatin River runs just down the road from Big Sky, and you can go out by yourself or do a guided tour.

Here are a few places to try:
Riverhouse BBQ. (Note the workers are consistently rude but the food is tasty. This is a fun casual place with outdoor games, a great view, and a fun environment inside.)
Cafe 191 for breakfast.
The Standard for a weekend brunch.
