I feel like I’m sort of writing this post to make myself feel better about leaving our baby, but hey, whatever works. We are leaving our sweet baby boy for the first time, and I’m sure you guys will hear me talk about how much I miss him on multiple occasions. I’ve already cried quite a few times about it. The longest I’ve left him is 8 hours. It will be interesting to see what I have to say about our trip once we’re back! I thought this Siesta Fiesta top was very fitting for the occasion.
So in honor of attempting to stop the guilt, here are three things I’m really looking forward to about our trip:
- Taking a siesta, and calling all the shots on when I wake up. Where are all my mamas at? Sometimes you just really need a nap, but your children have other plans. 😉
- Laying on the beach and actually relaxing. Beach trips are much different when you’ve got a baby on your hands! Babies on the beach are adorable, but in all reality baby beach trips are a constant combination of worrying about sun exposure and attempts at eating sand and seaweed. I think it will be pretty fun to remember what it’s like for my only concerns to include when I should lather on my next layer of tanning oil, and when the nachos and ice cold coke will be brought to me.
- Alone time with the husband that isn’t rushed. I’ve always been the type to rush things. If we have a baby sitter, or even if I’m just headed to the gym, I constantly feel the need to rush back home so that I’m not asking too much of other people. I think it will be so good to have some for the two of us for a few days. Plus, we will be able to explore the town a little more than we would if we had our cute little guy with us.
Alright. I’m not sure if that actually helped the guilt at all, but it was worth a try. 😉 Follow along on snapchat and Instagram (@laurenjparry on both) for little snapshots of our trip!
