Nursery closet organization: I failed at it once and I’m determined to figure out a new system to keep things organized this time around! Sure it all looks slightly decent when there are a bunch of cute little baby outfits hanging in a closet, but what about once things really start to be worn and used? That’s when you really find out how functional your closet is. Two things that I can’t stand in a closet are wasted space and clutter, but I couldn’t quite figure out the best way to fix the problem. I decided to meet with a design consultant at California Closets to get some nursery closet organization advice.

To give you a little bit of background, a couple years ago I started reading about the KonMari method in the book the Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and how an organized space can help foster joy in your home. We have been going room by room implementing her methods, and I just love how it feels when my space is complete!

My consultant, Jessica, provided me with some great ideas. When we ended our conversation I felt so inspired and excited to step things up a notch in the nursery. I appreciated that she gave me some goals that I can achieve short term before I really take on the full project. California Closets’ professional design consultants will collaborate with you to create a custom design that works with your needs, style, and your budget.

I loved this plan for the nursery closet! Let’s talk about a few of my favorites in this design.  First, the basket at the bottom for laundry or toys. I love the maximized hanging space which is condensed to one side, allowing for more shelving and drawers. Genius! Lastly, I really love that she implemented the free standing bins that I already had in my closet.

Yes, we all know California Closets does closets but they also do so much more! From pantries and media centers, to mudrooms and garages, California Closets is all about making your home as efficient and functional as possible. I implemented shelving on the right side and organized all of the clothing by size. The bins on the right are filled with shoes and accessories, while the bins at the top are full of toys, and things that we don’t necessarily need on a daily basis (extra sheets, baby carriers, etc.) Super Useful Nursery Closet Organization Tips featured by popular Las Vegas mom blogger, Outfits & Outings

Ideally, I would like to eventually get doors that allow me to view the entire closet at once with the full plan that Jessica suggested. It can feel like a smaller space than it really is with the current doors. In the mean time, I am going to continue to implement the organizational tips and tricks I learned from California Closets!

What about you? What do you do for your nursery closet organization? Any tips you care to share?
