I can’t believe we have almost been married 5 years, and I really still can’t believe that I somehow convinced Brett to be my husband. After all, the first thing my 17 year old self said to him was that I was kind of a big deal. Are you joking!? What was I thinking!? I’m a pretty shy person, so I’m not quite sure what was going through my head. To my defense, I was 17 and half joking. And to his defense, we didn’t start dating right away. 😂 That still doesn’t make it any less embarrassing that I said that. But thank you Brett for looking past that quality moment in my life. *Cue monkey covering face emoji.*
Today I’m sharing some couple pictures shot at Valley of Fire by Jess Morales Photo. I absolutely love how they turned out, and can’t decide which ones I should have printed for our home. Whether you’re here to see my latest post, browsing for poses for couple pictures, or looking at bridesmaid dress inspiration, I hope you enjoy! My dress is Adrianna Papell, and I have linked to my favorite Adrianna Papell dresses at the end of this post.
I recently spoke at my best friend’s wedding ceremony. I read “The Art of Marriage” by Wilfred A. Peterson, and I thought it would be the perfect little way to end this post.
The Art of Marriage
“A good marriage must be created.
In the art of marriage the little things are the big things…
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once each day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is finding room for the things of the spirit.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marrying the right partner…
It is being the right partner.”
Thank you Jess Morales Photo for these beautiful couple pictures. We love them!
