Black Pencil Dress
Lately I’ve had a few people ask me about building their wardrobe. A black dress is a great staple to start with. Everyone needs a simple black pencil dress because it is a timeless piece with endless options. You can keep it simple like I did in today’s look, add a statement necklace, throw on a fur vest or leather jacket in the winter, or add a pop of color with some fun shoes.
When I worked at Nordstrom, this is the number one dress I sold. It is available in TEN different colors… moroccan blue and purple pennant are two of my other favorites. It’s one of those pieces that people buy and then end up coming back for more colors. This dress is a body con (tighter) fit, so my customers who preferred a more relaxed fit ordered one size up and it was perfect! One of my favorite details of the dress is the zipper closure in the back. You can create a slit at the bottom of your dress or leave it zipped all the way down.
The length is perfect whether you’re hauling your kids around, doing lots of walking, or sitting at a table, you don’t have to worry about it riding up. Date nights, weddings, business, church. The options with a timeless black pencil dress really are endless.
