Let’s get real. Our bodies can do some pretty incredible things, and sometimes there can be some aftermath involved. It’s all worth it in the end, but luckily there are some amazing products out there to help us out! I found out pretty early during my gymnastics career that I was prone to stretch marks. (Hello, gymnast legs!) With both of my pregnancies I have tried to be very proactive about stretch marks with stretch mark cream. From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I started using my Palmer’s products to keep my skin moisturized as much as possible. When you are well moisturized, your skin is able to stretch more easily.
MY GO-TO STRETCH MARK CREAM:
The main areas I apply are my stomach, chest, lower back, and booty. My skin feels so nice and soft after I apply! It can keep your skin hydrated for up to 48 hours, but I love it so much that I apply it morning and night. Palmer’s Stretch Mark Formulas were developed specifically for pregnant women and their unique skin care concerns. There are a few different Palmer’s stretch mark cream options to choose from for pregnant women, and they recently enhanced their past formulas. See a simple explanation of each product that I use below:
#PalmersBelly
Massage Lotion; $6.95
This non-greasy lotion is ideal for all over body use, in place of your regular moisturizer. This is the one I use the most! Aside from all of the great benefits, I love the convenience of the pump on it. This is ideal for overall body use. Over 98% of women saw improved skin elasticity, texture and tone.*
Massage Cream; $6.95
This stretch mark cream concentrate formula is ideal for stretch mark prone areas such as tummy, hips, thighs and bust. (Another great cream for stretch marks! Bonus points that it is called massage cream, so I can talk the husband into a massage every once in a while. It is also great to travel with compared to the lotion since this one doesn’t have a pump..)
Tummy Butter; $6.95
Widely recommened for stretch marks during and after pregnancy or weight fluctuation. This is more of an intensive treatment moisturizer. Even though it’s called tummy butter, I apply this to the stretch marks on my booty as well!
There are even more products for pregnancy, which can be found here. (I plan on trying out the Nursing Butter once baby girl arrives!)
All stretch mark products are not created equal. Here are a few things I love that set Palmer’s stretch mark cream apart from the rest:
- The Price Point: You really can’t go wrong at just $6.95 for any of these products, especially when you consider all of the benefits.
- The Smell: There are so many stretch mark creams out there that have a really intense smell to them. You literally feel like you can’t escape the smell, but not with these. It is such a subtle natural smell, and it doesn’t cause me headaches like many things do during pregnancy.
- It’s Non Greasy: I’ve experimented with a few other brands, and oh my goodness the grease is insane! It can ruin your clothes, and is so uncomfortable. This line is extremely hydrating yet doesn’t give you that greasy feeling at all..
- The Formula: The formula is spot on. If you do any research about stretch marks, you will find that all of the ingredients that are recommended are in this formula. These ingredients include: Collagen, Elastin, Cocoa/Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Argan Oil, and Lutein. The formulas address pregnancy stretch mark risk factors including – collagen and elastin breakdown, loss of elasticity, and moisture loss.
One of my biggest tips for my pregnant friends is to start applying Palmer’s stretch mark cream as soon as possible. I was pleasantly surprised with my skin after my last pregnancy thanks to Palmer’s. The least we can do is give our beautiful bodies a little extra TLC during the changes they are enduring. Whether you’re pregnant or you have stretch marks as a result of pregnancy or weight fluctuation, I recommend checking out their full line of products for mom and baby!
Thank you Palmer’s for sponsoring this stretch mark cream post! I love having the chance to share brands that I have used and loved for years with you guys! As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
