Good morning, my loves! Today I’m sharing a few pictures from my weekend trip to San Francisco. The photos shown above are from the second and third day of my trip. My comfy travel outfit from the first day of the trip can be found here.
We woke up bright and early Friday morning for a girls trip and headed to the airport. Luckily, Vegas to San Francisco is a pretty short flight. When we arrived in San Francisco the first thing we saw a Pressed Juicery. I LOVE Pressed Juicery, but I had only ordered them online (we don’t have them in Vegas). I was overly excited to try it in person! We immediately loaded up on juices and even got some top secret information that one is opening on the Las Vegas Strip soon…SCORE!
We spent most of the first day exploring and getting our race packets for the Nike Womens Half Marathon. Its amazing how the whole city is so supportive of the race. Even the inside of Nordstrom and Macy’s are decked out with Nike Women’s Marathon signs and clothing. Nike has every participants name on the outside of their building. It’s pretty neat to see your name on the Nike store, even if my name was at the very top and too high to photograph!
We started off the second day with a Nordstrom Beauty Trend Event, where we saw the latest fall beauty trends and fashion. My favorites were Bobbi Brown and Nars. After the event I had my makeup done by the cutest makeup artist from Nars. She used a bold fall color on my lips and I ended up loving it! It’s a little more drastic than my everyday makeup, but I think she did a great job! I’m sure you’ll see more of the Vera Nars lipstick in my upcoming photo shoots! The rest of the day we explored San Francisco some more, had the best clam chowder in bread bowls at Boudin Bakery in Fisherman’s Wharf, and made a stop at Ghirardeli square for some treats. Our concierge at the hotel suggested we check out Belden Place for dinner. It’s a hidden alley filled with the cutest restaurants. You can’t see it from any of the main roads, but it’s magical when you find it!
Sunday was race day. When I finished my first half marathon last year, I told myself I would never do one again. A few months later I decided it would be fun to beat my time. I trained pretty well the first half of training, but I started slacking after that. Thanks to will power and adrenaline, I was able to beat my time! A few miles into my run I decided to give it my all, and to make sure the thought “I could have done a little better” would never pop into my head. Running is physical, but for me the tough part is the mental aspect. I think leaving it all on the line was huge for me. That kind of mindset can be applied to so many things in life. I ended up improving my time by 12 minutes, finishing at 2:01.
All in all it was a great trip, and now I think I’m ready to beat my PR again!
Love this recap! Very different from all the other running blog recaps. 🙂 I am looking forward to this race in October!
