Swimming in Style: Mommy and Me Outfit

When I was pregnant with Michael, I was dying to have a gender reveal party. I had to do some serious convincing to talk Brett into it. (View our gender reveal party here.) I was so grateful to have a baby and was excited either way. I’ve always wanted a girl, but I knew that if we had a boy first, he would be a big brother. We popped the balloon in front of friends and family and blue confetti flew into the air. I was so excited, but nervous too. As the party went on, all I kept thinking about is how I knew nothing about boys. I always loved how cute (non-cheesy) mommy and me outfits were and I was a little bummed I would have to wait a couple more years to hopefully have a girl to match.

Now that I am officially a “boy mom” I get SO excited when I find an opportunity to match this cute little chubster. Sometimes we will coordinate in Yankee outfits, overalls, or prints, but I was dying over these cute Euro shorts from Kortni Jeane. They are actually supposed to fit more like tight spandex shorts, but I bought them in a bigger size so that we can match next summer too. Shoutout to Kortni Jeane for making my mommy and me outfit dreams come true! 

Since we’re on the topic of Michael, guess what his first word was last week!?

Winning. 😉 Onto my suit. It was nearly impossible to figure out which style top and bottom to go with. There are quite a few options, so it took me forever to decide. Once you feel like you’ve finally made a decision, then you have to choose between a huge selection of cute prints and colors. It’s sort of embarrassing how long it took me to decide, but I’m loving the combo I went with!
