I’ve had a few requests lately on ideas on Fall special occasion dresses! From bridesmaids to wedding guests, galas, and charity events, finding a special occasion dress can be really fun or really dreadful. Today I’m sharing a few tips on finding the perfect dresses for Fall, whether you’re in need of a formal gown or just a new dress for church or family pictures! It’s almost as if the moment you are in need of that perfect dress, you can’t seem to find anything. Yet, when a stunning dress is the last thing you could possibly need, you come across so many!

Finding Fall Special Occasion Dresses: The colors

Sometimes shopping for dresses in the warmer months can be a little more simple. What do you wear when it’s chilly and you really want to capture the feel of the season? I love transitioning from light and airy summer colors to rich jewel tones like wine, golden brown, emerald and midnight blue. If you are hoping to find a classic dress to wear any time of year, I recommend going for a timeless black dress with neutral details.

Shopping for Fall Special Occasion Dresses: The Texture

Finding a dress with texture can make all the difference, especially if you will be taking photos. Velvet, embellishments, lace, satin, and chiffon are a few of my favorites. I particularly love the beaded detail on this Adrianna Papell dress because the beading doesn’t go all the way down to the floor. I feel like I can move around without worrying too much about dragging the bottom of a beaded dress around.
