How I Survived NYFW

nyfw tips

If one were to spend a day with me, or a few hours for that matter, they would realize very quickly how much I love to eat. As you know by now, I just recently returned from New York Fashion Week! I came home on Wednesday night and decided to spend the rest of the week computer free. (More fashion week recaps are coming… I promise!)

Prior to attending NYFW, I spent hours and hours researching the ins and outs of fashion week. It had been a goal of mine since the day I started my blog.  After the research came the stress. I had my pitch emails down (for pr meetings, shows, events, and brand sponsorships), so that part was more time consuming than stressful. There were really two things that stressed me out:

  1. The Outfits. I mean… that’s the obvious one. Side note: If I could go back, I would stop overthinking it and dress how I felt most comfortable. I mentioned this in a previous post, but I was being SO ridiculous about the outfits! Once I was there I realized just how much energy was waisted trying to find the perfect looks. To be honest, the most simple outfits I packed ended up being my favorites over the more high fashion pieces I brought.
  2. The Food. I know … of all the things to be stressed about. But if you read any blogger’s NYFW post you will quickly find out that it is pretty rare to have time to eat. Although I was able to try out a few restaurants on our slower days, there were some days where I had back to back meetings and events all day long from 7:30am – 7:00pm. A few of our meetings and events had treats, but I wanted to bring something healthy to help keep me going each day.  Just about every place I needed to be was about a 15 minute drive, and that was the only snack time I had.

How I Survived NYFW with RXBAR

I’m not the kind of person who can go hours and hours without eating, so I packed an entire RXBAR box to take with me to NYC! I’m not joking when I say I can’t function without food! RXBAR helped fuel me during my entire time in the city. When my photographer was shooting them she said “do they realize just how perfect of a fit this is for you to be working with them!?” Meaning… I really was snacking on these all day long, and I really don’t know how I would have gotten by without my RXBAR!

Between the chilly weather and the new Pumpkin Spice (limited edition flavor) RXBAR, it really did feel like Fall. I particularly love that the ingredients are listed right on the front of the packaging. If you read their story, it is funny because many industry experts told them that their packaging was a bad idea. It’s actually what first led me to discover RXBAR!

I think it’s safe to say the other girls were glad I packed them, too. I brought enough to share, and as a bonus, no one had to see me hangry during the trip. 😉 I feel like half of my trip was spent snacking on RXBAR’s in Ubers.  A few of my other favorite flavors include Chocolate Sea Salt, Coconut Chocolate, and Peanut Butter Chocolate.
